Fly Private to Guangzhou, China | Baiyun International Airport

Flying private to Guangzhou can be a bit of a surprise for those who haven’t yet been there. A common misconception is that the city must be small if you haven’t heard of it, but this seldom recognized city is every bit as big as New York City and all of its boroughs.

With its population of 8.5 million people, Guangzhou is a major player in the world economy and the manufacturing industry, so there’s an equivalent amount of business travel in and out of the city.

Attractions and Activities

Guangzhou isn’t a typical vacation destination like Shanghai or Hong Kong, but many would consider that to be a good thing. No one wants to see the same restaurants, the same stores, and the same architecture that can be seen back home. Travelling to the less popular city gives visitors the chance to see communist China in its true form, unedited by major corporations and the invisible hand of gentrification.

Guangzhou is the manufacturing capital of the world, so our clients generally visit for business. However, there really is a lot to do if you want to vacation in Southeastern China – especially if you’re a bit of a foodie. The Chinese say “Be born in Suzhou, live in Hangzhou, eat in Guangzhou and die in Liuzhou”, so it’s safe to say that the local cuisine is pretty tasty.

Whether you’re visiting Guangzhou on business or vacation, the number one attraction in the city is going to be the same – eating. The local Cantonese-speaking population is seriously obsessed with food, both cooking it and eating it. All of China looks at old Canton City in jealousy as they try to mimic Yue Cai (Cantonese Cuisine) with its Roast Suckling Pig, Stewed Snake, Shrimp Dumplings and Steamed Shaomai.

They always fall a bit short, though, so they’ll just have to keep looking. The most authentic local bites can be found in street stalls and hole-in-the-wall establishments, but the city does offer a few gourmet options. If you’re looking for a sit down meal and some ambience, Tiger Prawn off of Huifudong Road, Nan Yuan in Haizhu, and Guangzhou Restaurant are all well-reviewed Cantonese places that the locals love.

Now that you know what the area is all about, you can start building up your itinerary. If you need a place to start your search, keep on reading. Our Guangzhou Jet Charter brokers have come up with a list of the best attractions for after your private jet charter flight to Guangzhou, China.
